Co-sleeping or using bassinet for newborn?

I’m having a hard time deciding what method I’ll use. So many different opinions from different moms not sure what’s best and safest!

I would definitely have a bassinet just in case. My first would not sleep in the bassinet at all. He would only sleep with us, but I kept his bassinet in case my August baby is a more independent sleeper than he was!

I’ve seen bassinets that are open on the side that’s against the bed. So it would be a safer way to basically sleep as close as possible without the risk of rolling on the baby or covering the baby’s face.

You mind if decide when the baby gets here. With my first I was not going to co sleep but I was a nervous wreck all the time wondering if he was okay so I bought an in bed bassinet so I could be close and see him breath and put my hand on his chest. Only co slept for a month then moved him to the bassinet next to our bed. I’ll do the same with this girl

As a previous poster said, crib from day 1. There’s no transitioning issues to crib and no potentially unsafe co-sleeping bassinets. We used the angel care monitor for 1&2, but with 3 we are going to get an Owlet.

Neither! My first born was in her crib in her own room from day 1 home from the hospital. That way you don’t have to deal with transitioning to the crib later!

For my daughter I used a co sleeper bassinet. The sides pull down so night feeding is easier

I don't personally feel comfortable with bed sharing. My bed is just not big enough for my husband and I and a baby as well. I also sleep terribly with baby in the bed. Did it for a week, hated it so much (loved the cuddles though). I'll be getting a bassinet that attaches to the bed with a zipper on one side.

Co sleeping is sharing a room whether in a crib, bassinet, or something of the sort. 
Bed sharing is sleeping in the same bed together. 
I never felt comfortable with bed sharing.

Everyone’s going to have their opinion, but you’ll find out what works best for you and baby when they arrive. If anything just have a bassinet Incase you find co sleeping isn’t working for you.
