Is this okay discipline?

If my son makes a mess he either gets the choice to help me with it or he sits in time out for the duration it takes me to clean it. Is this okay for an 18 months old?

It might not register why hes in time out just yet but I would definitely keep on him to help... my 2yo helps by example... if I start picking up he does it too and will just keep going 😁

I think that is absolutely fine. I did the same with my son when I felt he was ready to start helping clean up his messes and toys. He is now 4 and he still doesn’t like cleaning his room by himself, but if I “help” or just sit there in his room while he does it he does a good job.

Is this okay discipline?
