If we go under a lock down will we get a warning?

Someone told my mom something and she is absolutely convinced that on Tuesday we will be on lock down for at least 2 weeks. 
That’s fine. 
But I’m really having trouble just believing that seeing as that it’s not been mentioned on local media like why would they just lock us down with no warning?

I’m in Ohio and we just got out on lockdown starting tonight and had a stay at home warning before thAt. We can still go to get groceries or prescriptions or to doctor appointments, but non essential businesses are closed and nonessential travel isn’t allowed.

Might not get it. Your warning is the actions City or goverment takes. In europe some countrys have done it like light measures->heavyer measures->lockdown. But teum just closed us borders to europeans point on at night. A lot of my aqquanyances are still there, because all fights got cancelled next day and they can't come home... So all depends on people deciding how much warning you get.

Yes you will.
And in the states that have it, you are still able to go to the grocery store, pharmacy, doctor, any "essential business", you can take walks outside. And I believe you can go to work if its "essential". 
My friend is in California. This isnt house arrest. 
Some states have shelter in place things, but it's more suggestion cause frankly they cant legally enforce it. (We have a LOT of civil liberties in the USA, so its really not a house arrest situation, at worst you MIGHT be asked where you are going).

Our government in New Zealand has announced today that we will be at alert level 4 and going into full lock down. They have given us 48 hours notice. Grocery stores, pharmacy, hospital, service stations are still going to be open

If it does happen there will be a warning. In CA we had a stay at home order and they told us by midnight that night it was in effect.

It’s self-quarantine and you can still go buy food. You are limited to only essential activities. You will have no choice anyways because most businesses will be closed.
