Light bleeding after sex? TMI

So I'm about 6 weeks and my boyfriend and I had sex(gentle) yesterday and I had a little bit of bleeding. It was bright red but kindof light, no flow at all, it stopped and I just got a tiny bit of brown discharge throughout the night. I think everything's okay as it didn't continue and I had zero cramping, but I just wanted to hear opinions. Is this normal?

You cervix is inflamed right now with the pregnancy and sometimes sex will irritate it and cause some spotting. But baby is safe as is having sex as long as you make sure your partner is clean, since you can be more prone to UTIs

Sex can irritate the cervix while pregnant but bright red blood... I’d just drop a call to your Ob and let them know.

Thanks so much for your responses. I called my doctor and she said it's likely just bleeding from my cervix which is very common, and explained that sex is safe. 
It was bright but pretty light and she said cervix bleeding tends to look that way 👍
