UPDATE!!!! Not finding heartbeat a few days later?

I check my baby's heartbeat twice a week with my Dr's blessing on a home doppler. I'm 13 weeks today. 3 days ago I found it no problem. Today I stopped after 10 min with nothing. Does this happen to you? UPDATE!!! Just found baby :)

I had a midwife on the labor ward check babies heartbeat on Saturday (while I was in for cervical stitch, she checked before they discharged me), she said at 16w and under it’s really hard to find the heartbeat. As it was she found it immediately, but my thoughts are if a trained professional struggles I’m sure we would struggle to find it too. 
But saying that the reason I don’t have a Doppler is so that I don’t try and struggle and worry myself, I’m already very anxious about this pregnancy.

I’ve heard it happens quite often which is exactly why I won’t get a doppler and they often recommend that people don’t try at home. It creates a lot of unneeded worry. I’m sure everything is fine but maybe call your OB and see what they have to say

They like to hide in the pelvic bone area Anna it’s difficult to find it. Also baby needs to be lying a certain way from what I’ve read in order for at home Dopplers to work that early on

I personally have not had a doppler at home, but I know it can happen. At 10 weeks (I think) my doctor found it on the doppler just fine. Then at 12.5 she couldn't find it until we did an ultrasound. She told me that early on it can be difficult to find.
