Incapable of love

I have been dating this guy for a couple of months now and I messaged him about us and what are we

He said that he really likes me and thought he wanted a relationship but feels that he is incapable of loving someone and that his mental health is not great. I'm not really sure what that means. Do you think this is something we could work through or do we have to end it?

I am so upset because things have been really amazing with him and we connect so well together and I'm just not sure what to do.
