Midwife/doula?

Is anyone else considering doing a home birth with everything going on? I didn’t think I would be the closer I get (I’m 37 + 4) the more I’m thinking about it. I’m terrified of not having an epidural or something going wrong and not being in a hospital setting but the fear of getting sick and bringing it home with a newborn and my other kids is just as scary. Idk it’s just so much to think about 😞

I'm 37 weeks and my appointment is tomorrow. I think if I go into labor on my own at home, I dont think I'll stop it. My mother delivers babies so I think that if I need her she will be good to have. She lives less than 5 minutes from me. My hospital isnt allowing anybody to bring support people or hospital bags and phones have to be in plastic bags and it just seems awful. Like giving birth in jail. I dont want to do it without my husband.

No, I’m giving birth in the birthing section of the hospital. There won’t be random people around because of the strict policy of limiting visitors. Hospitals, or at least mine, are taking extra precautions. I feel the scarier thing would be changing your birth plan to deliver somewhere where they don’t have all the equipment or technology Incase something goes wrong with you or your baby. Plus (from the home birth places that I know about) they send you home quickly and I want all the help I can get before I’m on my own lol don’t let a “what if” situation change what you feel most comfortable doing.

Absolutely not. If something goes wrong mkst likely baby will not make it and you can die as well. There is too much at stake with the virus. By the time you transferred to a hospital and got to where you needed to be it would most likely be too late

you don't have to do a home birth I have a midwife and will be delivering at the birthing center. idk how that would work this late in the pregnancy. with my midwife you have to be extremely low risk to deliver with them.

I would but I'm attempting a Vbac and my last was born 15 months ago via emergency c section. I need Continuous monitoring and possibly another c section. I'm terrified of doing it alone if my hospital changes policy, currently only Dad can be there, but it wouldn't be safe for me to attempt a home birth.
