Throwing my own baby shower by mail?

I'm pretty considerate and don't want to seem like I'm begging or come off as tacky, but I don't have any family around and no friends to throw me a baby shower. What are some ideas of ways I can kinda have a shower without it being a shower?

Have you created a registry? Maybe share the registry link for those who ask, and be prepare to send a nice gratitude note for all   Well wishes and gifts?
Or, if you don’t know the gender, it may be cool to start a social media (or text) poll, , and offer a small gift card ($10) to whomever guesses correctly..first? 
Maybe you have multiple polls like this (I.e. guess the due date, guess the baby weight/length, name?)
This could help get ppl involved and excited from afar. If your setting up a nursery, or shared baby space, you could get people involved by getting their opinions on colors, decor etc. I think that in order to pull off a long distance shower, it’ll be important to help people feel involved along the way. (This is all brainstorming..I have no idea if this would work, but could be worth a try) 🤗

I’m apart of some online baby showers! They’re actually pretty fun. The mom to be and other hosts post questions regularly like what was hardest part of pregnancy, must have baby item, pregnancy symptoms etc. And they have a link to their registry and address for people to send gifts
