I don’t get why he was mad

My fiancé’s mom asked me about this instant pot/air fryer combo my mom has.

It’s great, saves time cooking. My fiancé lives a few states away and works long hours.

While talking tonight he mentioned his mom bought it for him.

He was mad he had to leave his apartment during this coronavirus to go to the leasing office to pick it up(said he didn’t wanna go outside for a month due to it). Then was complaining about how he doesn’t need it and that he cooks his meal once a week on Sundays to save time.

Also was talking about how he has no space for it on the counter, doesn’t want to have to clean it and put it in the box then away, doesn’t wanna accumulate things ect.

So I essentially told him that he should just leave it in the box then. He then tells me “nah, I’ll want to use it that’s the problem”

Like what was all this complaining about? It’s an expensive item just take the gift and use it.
