Should I get a nose stud?

I'm 19 and I live with my parents but I also live in campus so I'm barely home. I want to get a nose stud but I know that my parents would flip. Should I get it anyway because it's my body or should I wait until I move out?

I’m on the fence. My parents were always very much so the “I may not like it but you’re an adult” sort of parents. I pierced my nose in college and they never wanted me to do it, but then they thought it was cute. But I also called and told my mom before I was about to do it. She just wanted to make sure I was sure I wanted it. Don’t get me wrong, being an adult is all about making your own choices. But sometimes, if you think it’s worth it or needs it, getting the parents involved isn’t the worst thing and having a sit down with them. Even if the sit down and stating you’re an adult now and these sorts of decisions are up to you now and maybe you all need to have a talk about it. Sometimes doing that before just doing the first back act of adulthood can really make a difference on the reaction of how you do things. They’re still getting used to the fact they’re not your overseers anymore lol.

I'm 19 and got my nose pierced when I was 15. I'd say you can do it if you really want it done. If you change your mind you can just take it out and the hole will close super fast. I'd say you are plenty old enough to get it done. It's really a small thing, I don't even remember my nose is pierced most of the time. Your parents may be upset about it but at some point they have to realize you are a different person with your own life and they can't choose everything for you. Good luck! It's your life, your nose, not theirs. Do not even consider a word anyone says if they try to tell you what to do with your own life. Do not let anyone get in your way, just do what you want to do. So what if they are a little mad? That's their problem, they're living in the past. Nowadays it is 100% totally acceptable to have piercings. Do what you want. Find joy in pissing people off when they get in your way. :) I know I have.

Should I ask my sister? She got a belly and a nose piercing and my parents weren't ok with it but she kept it for a while. That was a while back however and she doesn't wear them anymore.

It depends on how your parents are. Do they forgive you often or stay mad and kick you out of the house?
