Hey ladies.... Im from Zimbabwe... (its a super sexist country with a lot of violence again women going on) Anyhooo we have a whatsapp group for people we went to high-school with (10 years ago) the group has about 100 people... So on women's day a Woman posted a picture saying on women's day...ladies can come get a 10% discount at Patricia's Driving school. So immediately this guy from the group made a poster that said this Patricia and i quote "needs to be dealt with for undermining men's worth and promoting gender inequality so she should be beaten and arrested" and he posted the address to her Driving school. He then proceeded to circulate this poster on whatsapp, Facebook and twitter..... So of the 99 people in that group only me and this other guy tried to say that Patricia doesn't deserve to be punished for this.. The rest remained quiet 🤫... So what would you do if you were in my shoes?

Rule of thumb #1, your safety is more valuable than anything. If I feel that by speaking up by safety is being jeopardized, I don't. 
However that was a WhatsApp group. I'm assuming they dont know your address? I would speak up, personally.

"Speak the truth even if your voice shakes." I always, always speak up. You never know how you can change someone's view even unknowingly.

And honestly, this situation seems to require more actual attention. What he's doing is essentially doxing. He should be reported to the authorities, this is not legal.

Hello from South Africa. I completely understand where you're coming from. If you can speak without you getting in danger then do so, that's the only way things change. If there's any risk of violence then keep quiet for your own safety.

It really depends. If they are violent, safety comes first. The problem with people like that is you aren’t likely to change their minds. That’s not to say you shouldn’t express your opinions, of course. I’ve ruined many Thanksgivings.

That's a call to violence and is against the law (in the US) ... I would report him on the site and encourage her to report him to the police. But I personally would not call attention to myself, especially if this guy is threatening violence.

I feel ignorant reading this. I take for granted that it is not a problem I have ever had to face. I know I would like to say, I would speak up. I try to stay strong to my beliefs always. Even when I stand alone. That’s easy to do in my country where I have that right. I think standing up for your beliefs is important, but stay safe!

That is a very tough situation. In other countries you can be punished the other way around and he would be facing charges for threats and harassment. Your safety comes first but ensuring the owner of the school is safe as well by making her aware of the threats.

Speak up. Change does not come from silence. You have to speak up loudly for all to hear in order to truly change things. Just the fact that you think this is wrong is not enough, the whole world needs to know it's wrong. It may be a risk but the world has never changed by people playing it safe, that's why we don't hear about people quietly minding their business in history class.
