What do i do with a wild 2 year old

My son is 2 and he is just off the walls. That’s fine, I know toddlers are high energy but it’s very challenging at bed time or certain times of the day. He is off the wall and doesn’t listen. He’s pretty rough with his dad and dad tells him to be gentle often and tells our son he doesn’t like when her hits. I’ll give my son an option and usually I have to repeat myself a billion times because he still doesn’t listen. To anything. I know he’s only two but I feel like he tests us and we give him attention for bad behavior but it doesn’t make sense because we spend a lot of time with him given he’s the only child and we’re always home. We acknowledge everything he does. Do you think it’s a lack of stimulation thing? I just don’t know how to go about it without making him cry or getting upset with him. Any tips?

Toddlers thrive on the mundane side of things. strict schedules do wonders. My son was CRAZY like rn e wildest child I've ever met and so his doctor suggested schedules and the more strict and boring it is the better. We do the exact same thing every single day(except if there's occasional dr. Appts and stuff) and he eats the same general foods every day. People make fun of how scheduled I am with him but if his schedule is thrown off, we have the worst day

First part of the problem could be because you give attention to every thing he does. Kids have to find independence to be able to do things not their own as well. 
Second unfortunately some times kids have to cry or be upset to learn things sucks but its part of the process, and learning to deal with the emotions of things and how they make you feel. If they don’t learn that the. They will have trouble dealing with their emotions and being a functioning  adult!

Do you spend much time outside with him, and does he see many other children? My 2 year old is nuts, like they often are, and Ive found that he goes pretty stir crazy so spending time playing outside or hanging out with his cousins helps calm him down for a couple days.

My youngest is 2 and is a busy boy. I do use time out in the high chair for two minutes or until he calms down. If he cry’s because he didn’t get his way I just let him cry and tell him That he can cry and he can be mad and upset. After a few minutes he is over it. ￼I would ￼ only give one or two ￼ warnings then follow through timeout or taking the toy away. ￼

He needs routines. Don’t give him options on many things or you lose your control, some things just have to be decided for him. I’d give him small bits of time to play alone and entertain himself so he learns how to be independent. Boys especially need an outlet for all their energy and mine needed frequent outside time just to run and climb. He also started karate at five and it was a great way to burn off energy, be physical, and practice self discipline. Find what your little guy is into that promotes positive behaviors you can celebrate him for.
