How to get rid of potential clogged milk ducts?

I don’t breastfeed but I pump frequently to give my daughter breast milk. Since my milk came in there’s a hard lump in my left breast and that breast barely makes any milk while my other breast can make almost 2 and a half to 3 ounces on its own. I looked up that massaging the area and hot water can help, doing that seems to help a little bit but the area is still very hard and I’m barely getting any milk out of it? Any advice?

Nursing usually is what gets mine out. But since you’re pumping, I usually apply a heat compress about 10-15 min before pumping. Then I massage the lump with my palm and push down towards my nipple while pumping. It hurts, but it does the trick if the baby can’t get it out for me.

I hate when this happens.  I massage and try heat but really the only way I can get it to go down is by pumping consistently.

I always used a hot wash cloth minutes before and during a session and it helped. Drink a ton of water. Don’t use heat in between sessions tho because that loosens is the clog and if u don’t pump or nurse it just causes it to back up even more.
