On birth control for 23 years non stop - sharing my story.

Elaine

Hey ladies, I’m here to share my story and bring you ladies some hope!

When I was 12 more or less I started taking birth control so I was told it would help with very painful periods as it runs in my family, so my gynecologist prescribed me pills for birth control, although it is not necessarily relevant, my sexual life hadn’t even started at that point and I had no plans to.

From pills (that were not working for it’s purpose) I changed to monthly shots, to semestral shots to Mirena, all that non stop, I have never had some time to rest from birth control to birth control.

To be very honest, I never wanted to be a mother but I guess nature (and hormones, lol) changed my heart and mind.

Last year as I was getting ready to get my IUD removed, I read a lot about ttcs and how many women struggled to get pregnant, specially the ones that were on bc so that gave me some anxiety as I’m 35 and I was told several times by my doctor clock was ticking against me and my chances were also reduced at the age of 35.

I had the IUD removed September 23rd, beginning of December I tested positive for pregnancy with my little boy! I’m currently 19 weeks pregnant.

Don’t lose hope ladies! Be positive, use the app to track your fertility and stay healthy as I’m sure it is a huge factor to improve your fertility!!!

Stay strong and positive!!
