Preg in NYC/ home glucose test?

Hi ladies,
As you all can imagine, living in nyc and being pregnant is extremely scary. I’m wondering if any of you also live here and re doing virtual doc appointments to monitor baby?
I ordered a fetal Doppler and blood pressure cuff bc I don’t want to risk going out! 
Have any of you done a home glucose test? My next appointment was going to be for that at 27 weeks.

Ask your doc, but I know there's at home alternatives that involve monitoring your blood sugar levels for a certain number of days like a diabetic. A lot of people do it :) good luck mama!

You can eat healthy and still have gestational diabetes lol. Just letting last poster know. You can also be skinny and have gestational diabetes.

I always do home testing regardless due to my reaction to the drink. I monitor my glucose levels 1st thing in the morning and before+1 hour after eating for a week. If I have 3 levels that are over 120 then I'm diagnosed with GD. I would definently ask if they will let you do this instead of going in but also you can simply refuse it as well and do the home testing yourself.

I’m in NYC too. At 16 wks now. I have an appointment today that was moved to video. It will be the first time I’ve spoken to my dr since this has all gotten so bad. I was tempted to buy those items, but I’m going to see what she suggests today. 
I’m update that now I won’t see her until mid May. My next appointment is supposed to be anatomy scan at hospital april 30. But I’m curious to see where it might be moved to. I’ve gotten emails saying they are working now with a network of hospitals to reroute care. And cuomo has been discussing how all of the private and public hospitals will be a working in network rather than silos. Assuming this is a good thing but I’m fearful I’ll lose access to my dr and the hospital I picked. 
Guess I’ll just have to take it day by day. I’m terrified to go to an appointment but also terrified to not see my doctor for so long.

I didn’t eat like crap and I never had to take the test.
They took my blood, my levels were amazing and under the normal glucose level.
Wasn’t told to up it or watch it and continue doing what I had been.
Didn’t make me drink the nasty juice or even go in for it. 
They always knew where I stood by checking my blood. 
Just needed vaccines for baby and that was about it.
