Ok so I have an 8 month old son. His skin has seen it all. He had severe eczema that caused him to always be itchy so naturally he would scratch. He has seen a dermatologist and gotten his skin under control. We have used antibiotics and steroid ointment. I noticed towards the end of his treatment about 2 months ago that he would itch even when his skin was clear and well moisturized. I was afraid it was becoming habitual. Now I’m positive it is an ugly habit because he only does it when he’s angry or well past his tired point. I pull his hands away and tell him no but he continues to do it. He scratches his scalp and neck to the point of bleeding. I will heal him up and 2 days later it’s the same thing. I don’t know what do. He’s well past the point of using mittens and it’s impossible for me to be with him 24/7. I like to let him play on his own in his playard. Any advice on how I can stop this behavior before it’s out of control?
