Does Tri care pay for midwifes/Dulas

Question

This is our first baby and we have tricare. I think I want a Dula and midwife. Does anyone know if that covered. Also if you’re in the Phoenix recommendation would be nice

From what I read on the Tricare website they only cover Certified Nurse Midwives and that’s all

They cover midwives so long as they are practicing at the hospital or certain birthing centers. They do not cover lay midwives.

They’ve always had midwives at the hospitals I’ve used but they don’t cover doulas

They do not cover doulas. They cover midwives to whatever extent after your deductible and co-pay assuming you’re midwife accepts TriCare

Unfortunately you have to pay out of pocket if you want a doula!

I know they cover midwives. They have midwives working in the hospital I go to. Not sure about doulas, but I would assume not. I have no idea though.
