Will I know if it’s contractions ??

Will I KNOW if I’m having contractions or is it something I’m gonna be like I think that was a contraction?? I’m a FTM so I have no clue what they feel like. I’m 37+1 today and for the past couple days everytime I wake up I feel normal as long as I’m completely still but the moment I try to move I start cramping and it just really painful or uncomfortable especially when I stand up but goes away the moment I sit on the toilet or something 😅😖

So if you’re in pre labor or very early stages of labor you may not realize they’re contractions because they could be pretty mild. But once you’re at the point where you’d want to get ready to go to the hospital you’ll definitely know you’re having contractions!! They’ll be strong/painful

Real contractions wrap around your entire belly. They HURT. It will feel like your body is tightening. Braxton Hicks contractions are generally more localized (they don’t encompass your entire belly), they don’t hurt (just might be uncomfortable, like a cramp), and they feel more like little “hugs” than a tightening of your muscles.

I have a high pain tolerance and with my oldest I was in active labor and had no idea. I thought I was having Braxton Hicks. My contractions were not painful at all. The only reason I went to the hospital was because I was bleeding and I was high risk. I got to L&D at 9am and by the time they got me into triage and checked for dilation I was 4cm dilated. I had to have a csection for medical reasons. I wasn’t rolled back to the OR until 2pm. I labored until then and the nurses would come in and make sure I was ok and they were all shocked that I wasn’t in any pain.
Everyone told me I would know when I was in labor. There’s no doubting contractions and the pain. But that wasn’t the case for me 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I had really  bad back pain with mine. I couldn’t breathe and had to focus on breathing

I felt this way with my first and was so nervous I wouldn’t know. The night they started I just felt off, couldn’t eat much really tired.. at 10 pm they started and yes I could tell! It was very obvious to me from the first one that it was different ! :)

See when I started having contractions I was out to dinner walked across to kaspas after still having these contractions thinking they were Braxton hicks 😂 I was 41 weeks it  wasnt until I woke up and they were more painful but I just kept track of the timings to see if there was a pattern then early hours that morning my waters broke so I didnt actually know!

Will I know if it’s contractions ??
