Pediatrician check-ups: did the dr. and nurses wear masks?

I had to take my daughter in for her 4-month check-up and vaccinations on Monday. Nobody at the doctor’s office was wearing a mask. I’ve been freaking out the past couple days thinking about how the pediatrician got so close to my baby’s face and talked to us at length from just a few feet away. I’m curious if other doctors are being more cautious during wellness exams.

I mean there are a few things to consider.
1. They are likely constantly sanitizing the office.
2. Unless your doctors office is in a hospital, there isnt much concern. At least to my knowledge offices are sending people with potential cases to hospitals/testing sites.  
3. There is a mask shortage. A doctor wearing one (looking at reason 1&2) would be wasting what they likely don’t need. 
I doubt any medical professional isn’t effected by this outbreak. There is much more to this than “my doctor is not being cautious.” I wore the same surgical mask a week ago everyday because my facility ran out. We had some residents with pneumonia that needed care/meds. 
Thankfully we were just given each a cloth reusable mask, but even then we only wear them around sick people as to not cause panic/confusion among residents.

My kids pediatrician is lop only doing well visits and vaccinations...so no sick kids in the office, no real need to wear a mask during the visit.
And there is a shortage of masks!!! Nurses, doctors, paramedics and firefighters are going without masks in hospitals and in the field so dont expect to see them being wore much during check-ups or at pharmacies.

I went for a knee check, the Dr washed his hands while talking to me when he first entered. He had a mask. Then washed his hands when he was about to leave

Man no one at the pharmacy I was at wore a mask. And neither did the person who took my blood at labcorp. 
I feel like a lot of medical professionals are not taking it seriously at all

You can’t contract it by breath alone. So don’t panic if he was breathing too closely. Now if had coughed or sneezed...then you need to worry! My OB’s office isn’t wearing masks. They haven’t been proven...yet...to be anymore effective than social distancing and hand hygiene.
