So yesterday when I was peeing I had wiped and noticed bright red blood. Not much but enough to startle me. So I checked some more and sure enough there was more blood up there. So I get in touch with husband to come home from work and call the nurses line. While in the phone with nurse I had gotten up to let my dogs out but when I sat down I GUSHED blood. Like period sneeze level. Destroyed the boxers I was wearing. Thankfully I was on the phone with the nurse who was able to console me. She asked me about the color, consistency etc. It was bright red and pure blood, no mucus no nothing. I was in NO pain, hadn’t had sex in days, no out of the usual activities. By the time I got to the the hospital the bleeding stopped but of course remaining blood lingered. The checked my cervix and baby HR only then said I just looked vascular down there and sent me home.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? This is my first pregnancy. All the moms I know haven’t had anything like this happen to them. It just feels so strange. For there to be so much fresh blood but no pain and everything to be ok, like how?! I’m glad they aren’t worried but I can’t help but be scared now and wonder did they miss something? Should they have done an ultrasound? Was I not in pain because of shock?

Idk. Just looking for any advice or to know I’m not crazy nor alone with this. I’m due May 25.

Update: So this and more just came out of me. Again. Still no pain. Is this my plug? Should I go back to the hospital?

Update 2: after speaking to the nurses line they told me to go be seen. After an ultrasound of cervix and baby, blood work, urinalysis, two different swabs down there- I’m ok. They can’t explain what’s happening or why. They just said to keep an eye out for anything else.

Feel pretty defeated and even more at a loss. I know I should be happy that everything is ok but I can’t help but feel like I didn’t actually get any answers. Not their fault. Staff is amazing. Just want answers.
