Solids at 8 months...what do you give your baby?

My mom is practically forcing me to give my little girl scrambled eggs and regular foods, is anyone else doing this or is it still too early? 
I thought I should wait until she has teeth ( teething no teeth yet)???

Do what you’re comfortable with, but babe will probably surprise you with what she can handle! It seems counter-intuitive, but you don’t need teeth to eat. My grandpa eats all the time without his dentures in 😏

My daughter loves 
Eggs (omelettes w cheese, scrambled, sunny side up,& hard boiled) 
Pasta the other day we we had pasta & garlic bread lol she loved it! Illpost a pic lol 
 Those gerber Cheeto puffs 
Yogurt melts 
Cereals
Toast w butter or jelly 
Sometimes chicken nuggets but she still makes faces while picking it up lmao 
She love asparagus w butter & salt omg 
Carrots 
Cucumber 
fries 
The other day she tried chicken eggrolls lmao can’t tell if she liked them or not she was making faces but kept eating them 😂😂 
She basically eats anything I make I’m still learning things she enjoys and doesn’t (: 
It also helps that she has 5 teeth to chew a bit more 
If you think your babe isn’t ready for solids definitely follow your gut

If you want to start her slow or later on that’s completely up to YOU.

My girl only eats normal food but it's up to you. Theirs gums are really hard so they can chew with them. Plus their back teeth dont come in till they are over a year. Start when your ready and dont over think it you'll be surprised. My girl has just had pitta bread with hummus. She only has her 2 bottom teeth but can bit small bits off now with no problem and she then just gums it till its soft enough to swallow.

My son still has purées but he’s eating quite a lot of ‘regular’ food too. We’ve given him scrambled egg, hard boiled egg, toast, pasta, various veggies and fruits etc. all as finger foods. 
I have heard that starting finger foods before 9 months will help them get used to different textures and helps them generally in the long run. Having said that my son has had 2 teeth since 6 months and recently got 2 more so I guess that’s helped. I don’t think you need to avoid BLW though, just make sure that you give your LO soft food they’ll be able to gum easily.

My babe has been eating regular food (eggs, chicken, bananas, toast) since 6 months, before she had teeth. 
Follow your baby’s lead, is she showing signs of being ready? 
Dont let anyone pressure you into doing things. You are her mom, its your decision. No harm in waiting but you could definitely try some foods and see how she does with them

My girly has been eating things like scrambled eggs since 6 months since we did baby led weaning.
The Facebook group baby led weaning for beginners and beyond is a great resource even if you don’t do BLW. They have tons of info on how to properly cut and prepare food for baby so that it’s safe

My son eats everything we are eating. Babies don't need teeth for most food. It seems they can chew with their gums. I just dont give hard stuff like raw carrots because I'm scared he will choke. He loves his toasts, spaghetti, omelets, any soups, blueberry oatmeal...

Give your baby whatever you're comfortable with. I was waiting for teeth too, but I read multiple sources saying that teeth don't make a difference because we don't chew with front teeth anyway. 🤷 But my pediatrician said food is just a natural progression so start when you and baby are ready! There is no timeline before the age of 1.

My guy eats pretty much everything we do now. I started with whole veggie straws bc they are easy for him to hold and suck on. Plus they're pretty melt-y. One of his favorites is chicken noodle soup (broth drained). All the noodles, chicken, and veggies are extra soft bc it's soup!
