Is it wrong to not tell anyone when I go into labor?

I just feel like many of my “friends” are only being nice to me because I’m pregnant. But I’m often left out of everything else. I then find out I’m being left out on social media. I feel like I rather have no friends than half-ass friends . Am I wrong ???

With my first I planned to not let anyone other then my mother know that I was in labor....  (didn’t want people waiting on me or to feel any pressure from others that things weren’t moving fast enough or to give him up closely after delivery). 
I was so mad when I found out I was being induced 3 weeks early and the whole family/ a couple friends knew the date of induction.... and that people were waiting in the waiting room while I was in labor/recovering. In the end it was all ok! I had baby at 7:49pm. Once we were all cleaned up the parade walked in to look at him and went home for the night. No one tried to take him from me and were really respectful! 
With all that said they will know if I’m induced again but likely won’t know if I go into natural labor until very close to baby!

We didn’t tell anyone except our parents when I went into labor with #1 and I wouldn’t change it for the world! It was such a calm experience..no one blowing up our phones..no one trying to rush to the hospital to see the baby first. It was amazing. I’m definitely going to do the same with #2...BUT this time we live a lot closer to family so I’m sure word is going to get out, my mom has trouble keeping a secret lol!

I don’t plan on telling anyone when we go to the hospital til after she’s here. I don’t want anyone to show up unannounced when I’m uncomfortable and trying to push a human out of myself. Nor do I want announcements about her birth till my husband and I do. As soon as I called my grandma to tell her she’s a she she posted it on facebook. I’d like to avoid that. I don’t want anyone visiting the hospital, they can meet her when we go home.

We didn’t tell anyone I was being induced except for my mom (she was there). 
We surprised everyone when she was born.
With my second we told my mother (she was with my daughter waiting for the call to come meet the baby) and my dad (they are divorced) and then my husbands parents. 
It was nice that way not having everyone ask “is the baby here yet?” Or “when can we see the baby?” 
We told our parents right away when the baby’s were born but waiting to tell everyone else a couple hours just so we could have a little privacy with out new babes.

I didn’t tell anyone. It was absolutely wonderful. It was just my husband and me. I was in labor for 39 hours and we didn’t want the stress of knowing that people were just piled out there waiting and then expecting to be able to come in and be all up in our space while I was recovering and we were getting a handle on our new baby. I never told anyone my exact due date and I never told them what hospital I was delivering at, so even if they suspected I was in labor, they’d have a hard time locating me. My husband’s family can be a little much sometimes, so we had to take precautions. 😂 When people asked when I was due, I’d say “in the fall.” And then when the fall was closer I’d just say “In October.” But no one ever knew when. Then when people asked what hospital, I would say that I was still trying to decide where I wanted to give birth. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Worked our well for us. We let our moms come for a short little while the day after she was born at separate times. Then that was it. We had people come to our house after we were home and settled in a few days after. We will be doing the exact same thing this time.

I didnt tell anyone I was in labor. My dad has a big ass mouth, my aunt told me she would show up at the hospital 🙄 and it was no one else's business. Only my husband and mom knew. And my in-laws because they live out of state. I plan on doing the same thing this time.

If they are real friends they will understand even without explaining that you have no time and no shit contacting everyone in such a time... 🙄

To me, it just makes more sense to let everyone know once the baby arrives. It’s less stress and pressure, and it allows your support group to focus more on you and your needs and less on keeping people updated with your progress and sending messages.
