Thoughts on a mini crib?

My first born isn’t ready to transition yet to a toddler bed and thinking a mini crib could work for the first year and by then move into first born crib. Anyone had a mini crib before? Loved? Hated it?

I love my mini crib. Our room is tiny so it works but we won’t ever get a big crib, we will do mini crib until baby is like 2-3. 
It’s big enough for a toddler.

I had a mini crib for the first 9 months. She probably could’ve gone longer but we moved to a bigger house and went ahead and went full size at that time.

Ignore the mess everything is moving around and the kids being home all day every day... well I can't keep up. We've had nothing but a mini crib since our second. This is my second mini my first crib was destroyed by my third. He chewed and banged his head so much it just had nothing left in it. (he's autistic and before we got some communication skills it was hard). This one I like because you can buy a conversion kit to make it a toddler bed.

Why would you get a mini crib, then a crib then a bed? Seems like a waste because they make cribs that go up high like that that you can drop really low as the kids get older, and then get a conversion kit for a toddler bed
