Question about the calendar method

Do the calendar method is when you track your periods and figure out approx when you ovulate and then have sex when you’re not???

So my bf and I have unprotected sex the day or two before my period, on my lightest day and probably the last day. We don’t do it that many times of the week but those are our options. Been doing this for about 6-8 months now I believe, been together for 4 years.

Ik many of you are gonna say I can still get pregnant, but hear me out before getting all angry. If I’m wrong, then sure tear into me for being stupid. But like I tracked my period and guesstimated that I ovulate on approx the 10-12 day of my cycle. And when you ovulate usually there’s discharge right? Like that clear discharge. I’m pretty sure that hows my body is and I’ve always had that discharge in my middle of my cycle. And after tracking and stuff it always happening in approx the 10–15 day window. My period is pretty consistent (sometimes like a day or two late but that’s pretty regular for me). And obviously you can’t get preggo without an egg and sperm lives up to 5 days.

Basically. Am I being stupid for doing this?? I feel like it’s fine. I am pretty sexually educated on many things but not this method and I’m in my mid 20’s so I’m not as experienced as lots of you on this app. I would rather you not be rude but if you need to, I guess you have every right to respond to me in that way.
