Polyamourous Relationships- Your thoughts?

Question

My roommates and I have this debate sometimes about Polyamourous relationships because we know people in poly relationships. It's split pretty evenly 2-2 in terms of opinion:
- Being poly is fine because you communicate like any other relationship and sometimes you just like more than one person
Or
- Being poly is a way of making friends with benefits, or being a player sound better than it actually is, and in the end is toxic. Why halfass being with multiple people when you should whole ass being with one person
I'm not looking to win a debate or anything, but I'm genuinly interested in people's opinions about this outside of our apartment and friendship bubble. Please be respectful of all opinions in responses, I'd like friendly discussion.

not my relationship, not my business. as long as everyone involved is aware and consenting, i don't see an issue with it.

Not everyone wants just one person. I’m monogamous. I like being with just one person. I like exclusivity of solely a one on one relationship. Who am I to tell others they should want what I want? Any relationship can be unhealthy. Two people or four.

Friends with benefits are usually toxic because one person hides their feelings for the other. With a poly relationship, everyone can meet their emotional and sexual needs with no lies and/or beating around the bush. Not everyone is hurt by the thought of someone they love having sex with somebody else

Being poly is absolutely fine. If my boyfriend were comfortable with it, I would definitely like to have another woman in the relationship. He isn’t comfortable with that at this point, so itscurrently just us

I think it’s kinda disturbing I have a boyfriend and I wouldn’t want it any other way . It’s none of my business what others do .
