Should I wait to tell?

I need some advice. Due to the pandemic my job is sending high risk people home to prevent exposure. Pregnant and breastfeeding ladies are being considered high risk. I just found out I am pregnant (currently 4 +5 weeks). My first appt isn’t until the 17th but it will be a phone appointment. Should I tell my job now? Should I wait for my first appt? Even though it will be through the phone? I just don’t know what to do.

You could tell them but they will definitely want written proof since you’re so early. Realistically the baby isn’t even formed yet at 4/5 weeks..

I would tell them. We always have the ability to work from home and I found out around when you did. I sent HR a message and they told me to just work from home full time. The CDC site clearly says women in their first trimester are most at risk for effects on the baby because of running a high fever. That’s the only main difference between a pregnant woman or not pregnant woman if they are both healthy. If they give you trouble, show them that info.

I called my boss the day I found out. 
I'm an RN working in ICU and while I'm still working, I'm not directly caring for COVID patients.
Let them know!
