Did you tell your parents / close family before seeing an OB?

Question

Its my first pregnancy and I’m so excited to tell my parents, but part of me is wondering if I should wait for an ultrasound or bloodwork to confirm. I’m 4w6d and took 2 tests on different days that were both positive. I’m definitely experiencing a lot of pregnancy symptoms too. 
Should the normal at home tests be enough? I’d hate to tell my parents and have it not turn out to be true. 
Am I overthinking it?? 🙈

I didn’t tell any of my family until after I had my first ultrasound and I was around 10 weeks at that point!

Our families have known that we have been trying to get pregnant for a year so we told them a few days after I got my first positive test. I figure even if we do end up with a loss they can help us through it.

I told my mum at five weeks cos I was so scared and needed someone who had been there done that to calm me down 😂

First timer here too! :) I told my mom the minute after I took the test! Haha we have told our parents only, but are going to wait to tell siblings and other close family till after the first appointment! It’s a terrible wait 😩. Honestly do whatever you feel is right!

I told my mom within a week of finding out and I know it killed her having to keep her mouth shut for 10 weeks. I do stuff with my mom 3 days a week usually and my nausea was affecting our plans

I waited to confirm that’s there was a heartbeat—haha I just graduated in a healthcare field so I suuuper paranoid it could be any one of a handful of super rare issues that could cause a false positive 🙈 Totally irrational but seeing the heartbeat on screen was the reassurance I needed🥰 
My sister told close family before, though, and everything is going smoothly still. Totally a personal choice🥰

I told everyone including my job before my first OB appointment at 8 weeks with my first baby because I was so sick I couldn’t function. Then with my second I told my sisters and friends the day I found out. I told my parents the next day. And I told my job at 10 weeks because I was sick and I was coming in later and later to work.

Heeeeeell no. To each their own but I dont tell anybody til at least 17 weeks. Preferably 20.

FTM here. I’m 13 weeks and we haven’t told our parents. We’re waiting for genetic results and gender to come in to tell them. The only people who know are me, hubbs, my bf, and my boss. It’s been really hard but we want all the info before we share with more people.

I still haven’t told family. I’m 10 weeks. My mom is a blabber mouth so I’m waiting until closer to 12 weeks.
