Feeling super bummed and confused

We started trying for baby #2 this month. I got my positive OPK March 30 and so now I should be 8 dpo I'm still Bfn......but my period is supposed to start in 4 days.... So which thing is more important to follow???? Post ovulation days or days before period could be missed for testing?
