Do you have more respect for SAHMs since quarantine?

I’ve seen lots of posts, memes on fb about how challenging it is to stay home all day, everyday with the kids, and cook/clean etc. I was just curious what glow community thought. And to those essential workers, we definitely appreciate you in these hard times❣️

It’s not a competition.
This is a hard time for families. End of story. 
Multiple people sharing limited spaces day in and day out can be tricky at best and exhausting/frustrating at worst. 
Parents who work outside the home are now being asked to work from home while caring for children while also homeschooling school-age children. That’s 3-4 fucking jobs right there. 
Essential workers, especially healthcare workers, are quarantining themselves from their families by living in the garage or not coming home. 
There are difficulties and challenges all around. 
Yes, being a SAHM is work and it’s hard. But being a parent (period) is hard. Hell, being a person is hard at this exact moment during an global pandemic.

Personally, these past 6 weeks as a temporary SAHM have been amazing. Cooking/ cleaning/ bonding with my family... Dream job for me. Even when my toddler is being challenging, im still loving this life while i have the opportunity to do so. So i don't really think that SAHM have it hard.
What i do have a new found respect for are the parents WORKING from home, and raising their children simultaneously.  I have friends that are going crazy trying to find a work/ family balance while being stuck at home and even in their struggle, they are my heros because i know that if i had to work from home, my work would suffer as would my housework..

It’s not that I don’t respect them, I just don’t think people who choose not to work and instead stay home with their kids deserve a medal for doing that. Many women would kill to be able to do that, myself included, but I have to work as I am the main income earner for my household. 
So it does annoy me that some women are pulling the “now you know how stay at home moms feel” card... haha nah, you don’t get to try to guilt trip the rest of us into feeling sorry for you.
I’m sure it’s a hard job, but a lot of women act like they’re forced to stay home with their kid or that it’s slave labor. It’s also different from working from home WHILE trying to be a stay at home parent, which I feel would be even harder.

I'm going to say no. I've been a SAHM with no other job before. I've also been a working mom whos had to balance work and household stuff and caring for my children. I have a healthy level of respect in general for what women choose to do with their lives. We do what we have to. I definitely found working and balancing home more challenging.

I’m only a SAHM right now because I am currently working from home. I am managing the house work, taking care of my son and helping him with e-learning. I no long use my breaks/lunch for myself but I use them to do things around the house since my SO still has to go to work. It is a struggle to manage all of that... a SAHM that doesn’t work I feel has it easy... that’s just my opinion.

I feel for people who are now working their outside job from home while caring for children and home duties. I'm at home not working bc of this and yes it's hard, exhausting and frustrating I love it. I still somewhat wish this was life but we cant live on just my husband's income still. That's the only reason I want to go back to work. It's been nice not bei mg stressed at work during my second pregnancy though and getting lots of mommy and me time with my little man before baby brother or sister comes in the fall.
