Complex Ovarian Cyst after D&C (Long Post)

I recently had a missed miscarriage at the beginning of March. Had my first Ultrasound at 10w2d to find out our baby’s heart stopped at 8w5d. On March 17th I had a D&C and physically I was healing just fine. Had my 2 week follow-up last week and my Dr said I was cleared to start trying again once we were ready.

Fast forward to Tuesday when I began to have very sharp abdominal and back pains on my right side. The pain got worse and yesterday morning I was doubled over. My husband took me to the ER thinking it was Kidney Stones. After a few hours in the ER by myself since my husband wasn’t allowed in due to Covid, I had CT scans and an ultrasound. I found out have a very large complex ovarian cyst, over 6cm in length, golf ball sized, on my right ovary. This cyst grew in about 3.5 weeks time as I did not have it at my first ultrasound at the beginning of March.

The ER dr. Told me I need to wait and see if it shrinks with another ultrasound in 6-8 weeks. I called my Dr this morning and spoke to the nurse. Waiting to hear back about next steps. It seems as either it’s wait and see if it will decrease in size(which I’ve read is uncommon with complex cysts) or surgery to remove it. I am worried since the cyst is large I’ll need surgery and how that will impact my fertility.

Has anyone experienced something like this and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?
