Ovarian Cysts
Hi. When I was diagnosed with PCOS the doctor just ran blood tests. She didn’t do an ultrasound on my ovaries to see if I had any actual cysts, so I took that as I probably don’t have any, which looking back at my self I realize how dumb that thinking is. But the last week I had a UTI, and I started my period yesterday.
The reason I’m staying this is because I think I might have irritated or possibly ruptured a cyst due to irritation or something. I read that irritation to a cyst can cause immense pain and yesterday and today I have barely been able to move from my bed due to the pain. At first I thought it was appendicitis but then I realized it was on the wrong side, which was a relief because now would not be the best time to have an appendectomy, lol.
But my aunt (who’s a registered nurse) thinks it could be a ruptured cyst. And since it isn’t an emergency, I can’t get into my gyno to confirm.
Do you ladies have any advice on how to make the pain subside a little? I’ve got things I have to get done around the house on top of online school, I really don’t have the time to be nursing this. So, any suggestions on how to speed the process up or at least make it more tolerable?
