Is it weird to give your son two middles names?

I think it's okay if there a significance, like honoring 2 grandparents for example. But to just do it for the sound of it is a little austentatious and unnecessary to me.

All of my sons have two middle names. One is a typical middle name, the second one is my maiden name. It’s our way of compromising. I was reluctant to change my last name upon marriage, so my husband came up with the idea.

We've chosen forrest Lee James for a boy if we ever have one (all girl mom here🥺) 
I don't think its weird at all! 
We chose Lee James because my husband's middle name is Lee and James was my grandfather that passed from cancer and we both seen my grandpa as an amazing man which he was so we wanted to honor him in a way.
