An awkward situation

So I purchased my first menstrual cup during my last period, but chickened out from using it then, promising that I would start from my next cycle.

So today my period started and I decided that I would attempt to insert and remove my cup in the shower.

However, we have been suffering from a leaky waste pipe which, when we take a shower longer than 5 minutes leaks into the kitchen below.

I had successfully inserted my menstrual cup and was now attempting to remove it (I’m still finding it difficult to grab the grip rings rather than the stem) and my mum comes rushing into the bathroom, rips open the shower curtain and yells at me to get out as the water is pouring through the ceiling downstairs. Meanwhile, I’m fingers deep yelling back at her that “I’m trying to get this out!”

She swiftly left the bathroom and I, after the rather painful removal of my cup, have given up on attempting again today. Here’s to tommorow ...
