Men not understanding about periods and cramps

So me and my boyfriend have been together for a while and I feel like he still doesn’t understand how painful cramps can be. He wanted to see me today for a little bit by asking me to get food with him. Which I told him I would have loved too but I’m currently in fetal position cause of how painful my cramps are. He literally responded I have medicine for that :/. Then I told him I also have medicine and heating pad for it too. Then he responded okay feel better and which shows that he was bummed out. I also it’s nothing against you love, cramps can be very painful. He then responds to that saying “I get it, it’s all good” I believe he got bummed out by me not seeing cause of my painful cramps.

Any advice would be helpful of what I should do?!
