What would you do?

Question

I have been having seriously itchy skin at night and I brought it up at my last OB appt, so she sent me to get a blood test for Cholestasis just in case. The results take 10 days to come and I see her on the 17th. 
I got the blood test done this past Wednesday. My friend who is a nurse said my OB should have prescribed me Medication for cholestasis and I should be taking it now just in case I have it. She says i should call the hospital I'll be delivering at and have them prescribe me it. 
My boyfriend thinks that I am worrying for nothing and my OB would have prescribed it if she thought it was necessary. He doesnt want me going into the hospital to be assessed for a prescription rn since we are self isolating either. 
I'm freaking out, my friend keeps taking about stillbirths. I don't know who to listen to. Would you call the hospital and start this medication just in case ? Or would you wait for the results to come in and hope that you dont have it. I'm worried that if I wait, and I do have it, that by the time I start the medication it could be too late. 
I need help. I dont know what to do. My anxiety is through the roof right now.

Your friend is a nurse not a doctor, and I get she’s knowledgeable, but I would trust your doctor on this. I’d call your emergency doctor line and ask for an immediate call back. Tell them your concerns because of your friend that’s a nurse and that you’d feel more comfortable.
Your friend should NOT be saying anything to you about still births. There is nothing worse than someone who speaks bad things into existence. There’s a way to say you’re worried and show your concern. And any friend who knows how stressful this time is for us going through labor in the middle of a pandemic, should not be saying shit like that to you right now. Even if her hearts in the right place, it is not something anyone should say to you.
Relax, calm down, take a deep breath, and call the doc with your stresses! 
Keep track of fetal movement and you should be fine. If you feel a decrease then head in to the ER! ❤️ I know how you feel. I’m sitting here rn and I can’t breathe and it’s taking everything in me not to go in to labor and delivery, but I know they’ll just send me home.

I would call your doctor and explain how nervous you are about it. She will either prescribe it or tell you something to ease your anxiety.

I posted earlier about this, except I’m the opposite. My doctor put me on the medication without a diagnosis while we wait for the bloodwork to come back. It’s just as stressful on this side, because now I feel like I won’t get properly diagnosed if my first numbers come back normal. 
I agree with the other person who commented, I’d call the doctors line and ask them if they think you should preemptively be on it to help avoid any risks in the interim. How many weeks are you?
