back sleeper

I’m a back sleeper and nothing else is comfortable for me. I try laying on my left side since i’m 21 weeks but even w a pregnancy pillow it’s uncomfortable.

The other night I forced myself to sleep on my side but I will wake up in the middle of the night on my back again.

How bad is this for me? i’m barely starting to show so just a small bump for now...

I was just discussing this with my midwife over the phone, I also love to sleep on my back. She told me to keep doing so, she said my body will move while I sleep if I am at risk of hurting the baby or myself due to pressure on the vena cava.

I do what previous poster said, sleep with a. Pillow behind my back, then when I roll over I’m not flat on my back but more laying on an angle.

I've heard people say it helps to lay on your side and then put a pillow behind your back so that if you roll over you'll be at least tilted on an angle. Sleeping on your back can cut off blood flow to your organs and flow of nutrients and oxygen to your baby. It's very dangerous.
