What are some tips to help your babies self settle?

Our LO is 14 weeks old and he has a really hard time recognising when he is getting tired. We try to watch for sleep cues but he goes from awake to screaming because he is over tired in 2 seconds flat! He is a good night time sleeper. Usually asleep by 8 and only wakes once for a feed then through until 6 or 7.

We have tried lots including laying him down when awake but drowsy and nothing is working! He has to be settled to sleep

I’m not a fan of crying it out. I just can’t hear him cry like that.
