Is sucking thumb/paci enough of a hunger cue?
My daughter was in the NICU so knowing how much to feed her has been troublesome since we’ve been home since the drs always told me exactly how many mls to feed her. She gets fed whatever she doesn’t eat over 20 mins in her gtube. Lately she was still acting hungry so I took her from 80 ml to 90ml, then to 95ml. Today she was still following my face when I’d kiss her cheek to try and sickle and was still fussy so I fed her 10 more mls, so 105ml.
After that she was calm but was still sucking on her fingers. Is that enough of a cue to feed her more, or is it more for comfort if she’s showing no other cues?
