Is it safe for a 13 month old to take naps with this paci clip? My day care allows it because he kept throwing his soothers out of the cot. Or even naps at home? I don't use for nighttime sleep.

We use Ryan and rose clips because they are shorter and I don’t worry about it

No, it’s not. 
But ultimately it’s your decision. The only time i would ever allow it is if i knew he would be supervised during his nap.

The danger would be if the lanyard could wrap around his neck (I have these, they’re not that long) or if some small part could come off (probably not). I wouldn’t put it on for sleeping because my son’s a wild sleeper and it would be uncomfortable when he rolls over on it.

My son sleeps with one. I just make sure to hook it lower so it can’t wrap around his neck.
