Baby clothes essentials?

What is essential clothing for an infant??

I’m trying to buy the bare essentials to get us through the first few months. My baby is due in August.

My now 3 year old daughter was 9 pounds at birth and didn’t fit any newborn stuff that we had bought. We didn’t save most of her stuff because we weren’t sure we were going to have anymore kids and they were mostly stained....

Should I buy 0-3 months or 3-6 months?

We have two sleep sacks and that’s it so far.

Do I buy plain white onesies? And what size?
