Is it possible

Kayla

I have a question, if I absolutely want my dr to deliver my son, cuz I know that different drs are on call when you go into labor & I don’t want another dr to deliver him. Nothing against the other drs, they are good but I want my dr. Can I request to be induced when I know he can deliver him? Or is that a stupid reason?

Definitely don’t think they’ll agree to induce you just so you can get the doctor you want lol

That’s how it should be lol

I guess every place is just really different. Where I go they won’t induce anyone unless absolutely medically necessary.

They might. I was told I could schedule an induction because my office has one doctor that I refuse to let deliver my daughter. So I was told I could induce in order to be on the other doctors schedule. I’m not going to but it’s an option I have.

You can but yeah it’s a dumb reason lol. I was told I could schedule an induction in order to a kid a specific doctor at my office that I refuse to allow deliver my daughter. I’m not going to because I found a different work around and like I said, it’s a dumb reason, and I won’t be induced unless I absolutely have to.

The OBs I work with will do that. There’s no guarantee you’ll deliver during their shift though that’s the only thing.

I went into labor and had my baby about an hour before my doctor's shift (had another provider from the office deliver). I will tell you that the doctor literally only comes in for the pushing and by the time you're ready to push, you will so tired and wanting to see your baby that you will not care who is there to catch! The nurses are there through the pain and everything else.

Doesn't hurt to ask your doctor ahead of time. I'm getting induced at 5:30 AM when my doctor goes on shift. I'm ready to deliver and I'd feel 100x better knowing my OB is there instead of someone else. We sort of planned it that way and it worked out good that my body was already dilating early anyway.

You can request but it depends if you even able to be induced if you don’t go on your own and if he is even on service or call. Sometimes schedules don’t line up. You can ask but it might not pan out with timing so don’t get your hopes up.
