Is it too soon to be worried about COVID-19 and giving birth ?

Even though I’m due in October, the rate it’s going, this mess is probably going to be here for a while. Am I the only person who is kinda scared about it continuing to October?

I’m a little worried too. I live on an island away from my family and I’d just be so sad if this continues and they won’t be able to visit their new grandson for months and months after. Also my four year old was excited to start school this year and I don’t know if that will get to happen now. There’s just a feeling of gloom over life right now and as happy as I am to be bringing this new life into our family it makes me said and worried about the conditions. I definitely try to just take it a day at a time because worrying only makes you suffer twice if things indeed don’t improve by then.

Im due in October too and I'm concerned about not being able to do all the fun first- pregnancy things like a shower. I've already missed out on a gender reveal haha. I wouldn't say it's too soon but also. Don't work yourself up about it when we just can't know. Just don't make any big plans and take it a day at a time

I am also worried. We’re supposed to have a gender reveal may 3rd and so sad to cancel it. I’m just worried about not being able to have my spouse & mom in the room as I’ve seen some women have to do it by themselves :’(

I spoke with my Dr. about it last week and she said it changes everyday but that regardless, the virus will still be here in October but hopefully much more contained. She’s advising I self quarantine starting at 37 weeks and then my hospitals policy as of now is only one person is allowed with me and they can not leave at all or else they can’t come back and no one else is allowed to replace their spot. Right now I don’t believe parents with newborns can even have visitors and they can only allow family members to see their newborn through the window. By October, they think visitors will be allowed inside but will still have to maintain a 6ft distance so grandparents will sadly not be able to hold their new grand babies yet 😢

I keep hearing about the virus coming back this Fall. My biggest worry is being away from my 2 year old for so long! We've never been apart more than a few hours.

Yes I keep thinking about the birth and the worry of being alone. But also now they’re saying that if baby has to go to neonatal unit then parents are not allowed in. My son spent 9 days in there after he was born (full term). The thought of not being with him every day is heartbreaking. I  mean there’s no reason this would happen again but doesn’t stop you thinking.
