Assistance for IUI?
Hello, ladies! I have some questions regarding
IUI
/low motility in men, but first here's a like backstory (I'm so sorry, it's long)
My boyfriend and I have been TTC for 2 years and 2 months now.. no positives. I went to an OB, he pretty much said my cycles are normal and regular and to take ovulation tests at home to see if I'm ovulating. I did that for three months and I ovulated around the same time every month. So he suggested my boyfriend go for a sperm analysis. We went and my OB let me know his results showed he had decreased motility (between 30-40%) but everything else looked good. He never told me his count or anything so we went and got a copy of the analysis , I'll leave a picture for reference
So my OB says he doesn't really know what to suggest other than looking into IUIs and continuing to track my cycles and come back in 6 months (he's definitely not a good doctor). I would have continued going in and finding some answers but neither me or my boyfriend have insurance.
We've tried PreSeed, laying with my legs up, and a bunch of other little things to try and conceive and all attempts have failed. We've been looking into IUIs and a fertility clinic an hour away does them for roughly $1200 upfront. The issue is I can't work atm and my boyfriend doesn't make a ton of money so it's hard for us to get ahead some months. (And I really don't want to hear anyone's opinion on how "if you can't afford the $1200 maybe you shouldn't have a kid". I know people who have children who can't afford rent or electric and have multiple children. )
But I guess my question is, is there any type of assistance for couples going through Infertility and don't have insurance? Our TTC journey has been stressful and our next option is trying to go through with an
IUI. We live in Indiana, we'd be able to travel a couple hours away if needed. Any answers or suggestions or success stories would be greatly appreciated, thanks for taking the time to read my annoyingly long post!
