Dr appointment?

I went yesterday for my 10 weeks, I didn't get an ultrasound but I think because I had an emergency one last Thursday, just got to hear the heartbeat, but I don't go back again until I'm 16 weeks, is that normal? My last pregnancy Dr was way different then this one.

Yes, I just had my 10 week appointment and I don't have another ultrasound until 21 weeks. Usually you get a dating scan and an anatomy scan. My last pregnancy i had a couple in between for growth and placenta movement. But if everything is good you get 2. (At most offices I know in my area)

That’s really odd... you’re supposed to have a nuchal scan around 11-13 weeks where they measure nuchal translucency at the back of baby’s neck. It’s kind of a standard scan, so it’s odd they’re just skipping it. I’d call and ask if you want to have one done.

I believe the norm is to only get two. A dating scan and an anatomy scan. With my first I ended up with 5 but one was on a mobile machine when I was very early, one was a TV to check on some bleeding I had, and one was a private 3-D ultrasound just for fun. I will probably only get two this pregnancy as long as everything is going well.

Everything is a ton different with the covid-19 right now. My doctor is keeping as many patients out of the office as possible. I'm also high risk and typically go bi-weekly for growth and development scans but currently my doctor only wants me in once every 4 weeks and it's definitely getting nerve racking. I go for my second scan April 28th and I am so impatient to know if everything is going well. She also said she may change my future appointments to virtual and I'm secretly panicking inside but trying to keep it together. I also get scheduled for a fetal echocardiogram because our 2nd son was born with a bicuspid aortic valve in his heart so they check to make sure heart development is going well also.
