Doppler problems

Hey there, I’m 17 weeks and a half and I purchased a doppler today. I tried it and I could only hear my placenta I believe. I’m now a bit nervous. I don’t even know if I was doing a good job. What should I do

This is why I could never own a Doppler! I would literally go crazy worrying all the time. Wouldn’t be good for my sanity lol. I’m sure your baby is fine and I know they are hard to find at times. Even my dr takes awhile to find my baby’s heartbeat

Make sure you use plenty of the gel and look all over. I'm just over 18 weeks and it seems like baby is always on the right side, sorta in the middle of where my belly button is and my pubic bone if that makes sense. I would slowly move it all around your abdomen and press in gently. It make take awhile to find it. I hear nothing but placenta sounds and my own heartbeat when I look on the left hand side so it's easy to miss, babys still pretty small.

I’m 17+2 and I’m a little on the heavy side... but I press on my belly a little to see where it’s more firm so I know where baby is. Then that’s where I search and I usually find it right away within a few seconds.

Watch YouTube videos, you’re probably looking in the wrong spot. I’m 17.5 and can find the baby with seconds. He is usually right under my belly button

Like someone else said, use lots of gel. And move it all over, pressing it in at different angles. Be patient. Go slowly. One time it took me over 10 minutes of going from my pubic bone to my bellybutton and side to side.

Look lower than you would expect!! I had a lot of trouble with finding my baby (on top of having an anterior placenta) but I went lower than I would expect and then slowly made the probe point up and down, then moved up slowly if I couldn't find it :)
