Hi All,

I’m 31 and was diagnosed with pcos about 8 years ago. Periods were always regular , then as I hit my mid 20’s they started becoming a little more sporadic.. would sometimes go 3-4 months without a period, but then my period would return, which became my new normal and I unfortunately never really thought anything of it. When I got diagnosed I had gone 8 months without a period, blood results showed high testosterone and ultrasound showed cysts on all ovaries - it was suggested i go on birth control to “manage” the symptoms but I had never been on it up to that point and knew it wasn’t something I wanted to try... so I tried taking Inositol for about a month and my period came back and returned to normal, getting one every month, and I stopped the inositol and it was still regular every month. Then somewhere between then and now it’s become sporadic again and recently I went almost 10 months without one. While trying different herbs but nothing seemed to work and then I’d get a period suddenly after going so long without one and I could never pinpoint what brought it on, maybe it was some of the supplements and herbs i was taking, or maybe I was less stressed? Could never really figure it out. I recently tried a few sessions of acupuncture and within a month or so got a period and i was so happy but after that it seemed like my period would start and stop constantly and I was spotting often so I stopped acupuncture and my period has yet to return to normal :(

One thing that has majorly changed within the last few years is my weight has gone up a lot and i find it impossible to lose weight no matter what I do. Which is so frustrating as I’m sure a lot of you can relate.

When my period was more regular I was of a healthy weight. I’ve recently been able to lose 5 pounds almost effortlessly, which probably doesn’t sound like much but to me it is a lot considering I haven’t been able to lose anything for so long. I’ve been eating better and walking daily and slowly adding in some light workouts and have also started taking inositol again... I do feel better but still have NO symptoms of ovulation or a period. I would LOVE to be pregnant one day soon but I feel so discouraged that i am not able to *try* to get pregnant because I never have a period so I don’t know when and if I am ever ovulating.

I would love any tips or suggestions from any of you who have pcos- what has worked for you in getting your period back and ovulating regularly? And have you been able to have success with getting pregnant naturally without any meds?
