How much did you spend within the FIRST year of your baby's birth?

Counting all the diapers, clothes, wipes, formula, baby strollers, toys, etc
I just found out I was pregnant and I'm a new mother so I was wondering how much money I'm going to end up spending my first year. I've heard on average its 4k a year but it can be up to 10k a year so I wanna get an estimate.

Im really big on yard sale and bargin shopping. Back in July we found out we was pregnant. I was shopping at yard sale..got really nice things( crib with mattress, pack & play, bassinet, swing that swings by itself, and a bouncer) and i didn't even spend $200 on all that.
I brought baby clothes from a child hand me down place...and they had like 10 for $10 oneis. And i also brought some new things...lol
So basically as expensive as you want it to be

For the most part- it's as expensive as you want it to be. I shopped a lot of mom to mom sales and saved so much money. A lot of my friends acted like they were above consignment shopping but honestly kids change sizes so quickly that all the smaller sizes are usually in great shape. I also did cloth diapers and breastfed the first year which helped save too.
If you include daycare and medical bills though I can easily see that cost shooting up.

Everything before baby was about a grand, diapers wipes bath stuff toys clothes (formula after breastfeeding) etc ran 250-500 a month after that it became a lot less expensive in that sense lol

Not much apparently. Only 600 on diapers (only had to buy once a month) Wipes were only 1 every 3 months.. so not even 100$. We didn’t spend a ton on clothes. Especially when he ended up in 12 month clothes at 7 months lol. Travel system was $200 which i loved cause the bassinet and using it on my second baby 4 years later.

No idea either. I have gotten things as time has gone. I know I have spent a ton but I also probably went overboard. I'm pretty set though for the first year except for little stuff here and there. But then you include Dr bills and those suck. Lol. I have paid about $1,000 just for Dr and have about $1,000 left this far.

Far under 3 grand, even having two kids. 
I cloth diaper and use cloth wipes ($200 over 3 years and two kids). I breastfed. I bought a pump and bottles, but that was a waste cuz my little buttholes wouldn't take a bottle. I didn't do purees, only table food starting at six months. Since they ate what we ate, I didn't spend any extra on food. 
I spent maybe $500 on clothes between newborn and 18 months (which is the size my kids were in at a year). Most of their clothes were secondhand from ebay in huge lots and from consignment shops. 
The carseat I used was pretty expensive ($700) because I wanted a Doona, which turns into a stroller when you pop the wheels out. So I didn't have to buy a stroller. 
I couldn't say on toys, tbh. Not much in the first year. Most of the money I've spent on toys came when they were toddlers and played with toys in ways other than putting them in their mouths. I'd say maybe around $200 the entire year, but that may even be too much, but it does include an exersaucer and kiddie pool.
My crib was $175. Rock and play (for naps during the day) was $30. I was given a swing because my sister's daughter is only 17 months older than my son, but it didn't matter because both of my kids hated swings. I don't think I'll even bother with one for my new baby. 
So all together, around $1800 is probably what I spent on my first child through his first year. And I know most women have baby showers (not my thing) and can get friends and family to buy some of the bigger stuff, so they may be able to spend even less.

A lot of the baby stuff was gifted to me. Like the crib, stroller, car seat. The stuff that I bought myself I waited until it went on sale. I started buying diapers and wipes in bulk shortly after I found out I was pregnant. (I found a thing on pinterest that shows roughly how many diapers of each size you need so I used that as a guide.) Overall I haven't really spent that much. I wouldn't say anywhere close to $1000, but then again bay isn't here quite yet.

Likely between 3,000 and 5,000 BUT I did go overboard on toys and clothes... if I were on a more strict budget I could have gotten away with spending much less
