Long Distance :(
Hi everyone. I'm making this post because I just need some advice I think.
I'm currently a senior in high school and I recently committed to my top college (yay!).
After it was official that I was attending the school, I joined the college's facebook group to meet new people. I posted a little biography in it, encouraging others to reach out to me so we could become friends.
Maybe 15 minutes after posting, this boy added me on snapchat and we started talking right away. We realized pretty quickly we had a lot in common and about a week after texting, we started facetiming.
Let me just say that this boy is literally perfect for me. We have the same interests but very opposite personalities that mesh really well. About a month after speaking every day, he admitted that he had feelings for me, and I told him that I also had feelings for him. The only problem is that he lives on the west coast and I live on the east coast, about 2500 miles away.
Even if we lived 5 minutes from each other, we still wouldn't be able to meet up (because we should ALL be social distancing!), but it's even harder that he's really far.
We say all the time that we're so excited to meet up in real life in the fall and that there's so much we have to do, but as it turns out, long distance relationships are like ... really hard, especially when you've never gotten to meet them in person even once.
But not only do we have to wait at least 3 or 4 months to meet, it's super possible it may be longer. I love facetiming with him but it's just not the same as getting to hold hands and go out places together. It makes me - and him - pretty sad.
Do you guys have any advice on how to stay positive? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you all, and stay safe :)
