Has anyone measured 3 weeks early?

Based on my lmp i should be 7+4 but i had a scan today and she said she could only find the sac and the yolk but couldnt find a fetal pole and i looked more around 5 weeks. I have had some spotting the past few days and feel extremely disheartened.

Not trying to freak you out at all because things could be absolutely fine, but when I miscarried I thought I was 6 weeks pregnant according to my period, but I was measuring 4-5 (barely a glimmer of a sac with the vaginal ultrasound). I wouldn’t freak out though until something is confirmed!

With my firstborn, I found out I was pregnant and got an appointment for the following day. Based on my LMP, I went to my “8 week appointment” and the ultrasound showed nothing! Not even a sac. They dumb ultrasound tech said either it was a chemical pregnancy or ectopic, but she couldn’t find it. My doc said ignore the tech and let’s do two hcg blood tests and they looked okay when the results came in. She sent me in for another ultrasound and there was sac, baby, yolk sac and a heart beat! My cycle which is normally clockwork was just messed up and I happened to test at only 4 weeks pregnant.

I wouldn’t be concerned! It’s actually not uncommon to be measuring behind in early pregnancy. A lot of the time what has happened was you ovulated later than you though. I went in for a scan at what was supposed to be 7w3d based on LMP and only saw a sac and yolk sac and measured 5w3d instead.

I knew the 5w3d was correct because I knew for sure when I ovulated but this isn’t the case for every woman. Anywho, fast forward 10 days and I got to see my little peanut and it’s heart just beating away at 7w0d. They corrected my dates at that time.

So while I know it’s easier said than done, keep your head and up try not to stress. You will get to see your little bundle of joy in no time!!
