Does anyone know anything about Topiramate and birth control?

So I was just prescribed Topiramate as migraine prevention because I have them everyday of my freaking life.

Then I pick it up and read the bottle

“This drug may decrease the effectiveness of hormonal birth control.”

Does the hormonal IUD still count? That may be a really stupid question but my IUD IS hormonal birth control. May be inside my freaking uterus but it’s hormonal.

I’m not taking this until I can call my gynecologist in the morning and find out if I can first. But I tried calling my primary care doctor back and he closed. Every pharmacy I’ve called is closed because they all close early now. Even Walgreens won’t answer lmfao

Update just so the information is here if this topic is ever searched up: I called my gynecologist who placed my IUD and he told me that Topiramate only affects birth control pills and not IUDs. Even if it is the hormonal IUD.
